Some of you may be saying to yourselves "WTF?" And that's understandable. But STFU. ![]() Star Wars is an incredible example of a story with "circles within circles." On the face of it it's a story about a boy who starts out as the hope of a civilization through his potential for greatness, but in the end falls to the dark side and bestows terrible pain and suffering on aforementioned civilization. Star Wars, the franchise, is much the same way, and perhaps that was Lucas' intent with it. Star Wars was one of, if not the, greatest sci-fi movie series' ever made, but where once there was nothing but where once there were fans devoted in their whole being, now there is only the searing agony of a franchise that has fallen to the dark side and does little more than build a dark empire of merchandise and revel in it's community's horror for what it's become. BUT! There is a light at the end of the tunnel. For what happened to Vader at the end? He turned from the dark path with the guidance of his son and ended on a high note... relatively. That is what I can only pray Lucas is planning for Star Wars: he makes the greatest series of movies then falls to the dark side and churns out the prequels only to be brought back to the light by his son, who makes the final 3 movies in the series, and redeems his fathers name. Well, as much as can be. ![]() That is my hope. But hard to see, the future is. Only time will tell. ![]() _______________ "It's because I love you. No. It's because I love you" Oh, Anakin, you're eloquence is second to none. I AM THE OPIATE OF THE MASSES! |
