so yesterday i got an email talking about how the uk does the best tv ads in the world. and if you are like me you say... "who the hell cares?" well he gave me a link to a site with a new honda ad and man do i now agree. http://home.attbi.com/~bernhard36/honda-ad.html my friend said this: This website will play a 2-minute advertisement for the newest model Accord Honda is introducing in Europe right now. A Portland (OR) advertising firm created the ad using only parts from the new car --- it is truely AMAZING what they have done. It was filmed in a Paris art studio and required over 600 "takes" to get it right. (You'll see what I mean if you watch it.) The ad firm swears the finished product was filmed "un-edited" when they got the whole thing right. [Note: It probably won't air in the U.S. because another firm has the U.S. Honda account; too bad.] go look at it and post ur comments here(why is it that i never get any comments in my posts?) _______________ "this is Icco. Ah yes. How many of you have been to a Rube Goldberg competition? I have seen things far more complicated than that. I went to one at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, in Terra Haute, IN. I can say that if college students can come up with things more complicated than this commercial, I'm sure a full-fledged corporation can come up with one as well. They may have needed to edit it graphicswise. And I also think they probably made several different cuts of it. But the physics and all are there. So it's possible. And yes, I was a former engineer, so I've constructed such things on a small scale. I know it can be done. Edit: And the tires up the slope. You can do it. I'd look up and explain the physics, but I'm done with my last final, so I'm done with classes, and so I don't wish to study. But tires have a unique physics, momentum. I've seen it done, like cue balls reversing direction spontaneously. Such things can be controlled. Also, the wheels go up some form of aluminum ramp, which can add to an upward slope due to imperceptable flexing in the ramp. Gah. so cynical.., why would they need to fake it? if they're going to do that many takes, they'll find a way so that it works, the large flat object that landed on the first tyre looked quite heavy.. anyway, if they found it didn't work, they'd just alter the angle.., (sorry, i just don't like it when people rubbish things without evidence) _______________ May the ping be with you |
