that's right, a class taught by a student. due to the high popularity of my trial runs, i officially announce my unofficial class. i have talked to massadoobie and he has given me permission to hold an organized class. so read the class explanation below, and post your email if you're interested. then i will send out the ip and pass of the server. good? good... this will be a red stance NF dueling class. this is not just some ordinary red stance though. i will cover the basics, such as swings and movement. but i will also go deeper than that. i will get into configurations, strategies, and dueling applications. you might call it my version of hux's old style, only for red stance. so come prepared to learn red stance not as a fighting technique, but as an art form. this class will be held Thursday, May 15 at 7:00 PM MST (GMT-7) *subject to change* on sleepyd's server. Faded, I have to work until 9pm my time which is 7pm your time. If I get out on time would I be able to join your class a little bit late? I suck with the red stance and your help would be most greatly appreciated. Please let me know. I may be 1/2 hour late if I get out of work when im supposed to. If I dont come then I couldnt get out. Work will be crazy with matrix opening in 4 theaters. thanks to all you guys, but this isn't about me being trialed for JAK. i have a unique red stance style that many of my fellow students have asked me to teach them. so i figured why not put them all together and teach them all in one fail swoop. i love to teach, and this is just another way for me to do it. |

i agree with DJ on some levels, but i dont think students should teach, earning JAK is a sign of commitment, and enables u to be guided to the ways of teaching. if students start teaching, i think they will only teach wot they have learnt in lesson with JAT and JAK which means no one will be goin to the offical classes! i think faded should be trialled for JAK and we should stop the student classes, i have no problems with them helping each other on the server, but i see no need for scheduled classes when we have so many already that are offical! Here's my take on "unofficial classes": Students are more than welcome to hold unofficial classes. They can't schedule these classes of course on the website. Likewise they shouldn't pitch a fit if other things are happening on the server at the time. Alls I ask is that you please don't hold unofficial classes at the same time an official class or tournament or whatever is scheduled on that server. Official stuff takes priority. I'd also like it if your class were teaching useful things and not something odd like "how to hax0r JO" or anything. Oh yeah... I've always been pro-student teaching unofficial classes. The JAK's and JATs teach in an official fashion, but we like it when you guys (and girls) help each other our. _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |

I have to agree with Aeth on this. If you allow one student to hold a class official or other wise then it's only fair to allow others the same privilege. It would be unfair to the other students if one is allowed and the rest are not. It's also unfair to the Knights who have to go through all the formalities set forth by Jacen in order to be able to hold there own classes. I foresee an unofficial class every time I sign onto one of the regular servers if Faded is allowed his own,as others will feel they have the right also. Is this what you want? So here's my solution. If you feel Faded is ready to be teaching classes (as I do) then give him the Knight trial and make it official. If you check my comments from when I was I Knight you'll see I recommended him for Knight within his first week here. I feel he's got what it takes. :arcuss: |

Yeah i agree classes are only for JAK and higher else whats the fun of being a JAK if JAS can do the same :S i say a JAS helping a other JAS or 2 other JAS is good but no prearranged classes. |

hm, without questioning doobie, whats the point of teaching unofficial classes? i always thought only knights and above were allowed to do that, plus all knights have to do some extra stuff to gain permission... and now just everybody can ask for it  cuz, if ONE students starts teaching, EVERYONE will want to do it. i think teachers should teach and students... well... study?i agree that unoficial classes might be fun, but i prefer them to be spontaneously. i have nothing aginst those classes who just happen... but organised unofficials? and something ordinary like red stance? hrm... edit: loaf, did he call himself special? _______________ Aeth S'kray *June 2002 +September 2003 This comment was edited by Aeth S'kray on May 13 2003 12:32pm. |
