Currently reading Ian Fleming's Moonraker, and already I think the books own the movies.

For starters, the Moonraker movie is all wrong, wrong wrong. Wrong.

Wrong.

Complaining aside /glance Saz...

Its a very good book, Fleming is very descriptive on the movements Bond makes, the situation he is in and you can easily form an image of what he writes in your head. And its easier to sympathise with him as well, because in the book he doesn't have a "use 'em and lose 'em" attitude towards women, he does feel for them, but can't continue it. Especially after the events of Casino Royale.

I'm sort of going backwards.

I'm reading Warcarft: Day of the Dragon right now. So far, it doesn't really seem to promising. It's like Dragon Hunt which is also written by Knaak, in which the characters have had minimal character development, yet they show compassion for each other like they've been lovers for years.

Before that, I read Warcraft: Rise of the Horde. Like Lord of the Clans, Christie Golden just knows how to engage the reader in the storylines. She perfectly and beautifully executed orc backgrounds, de-confused the Draenei storyline and made you feel sorry for them, and I'm just giddy that this took place during the time when the orcs became part of the Burning Legion and entered Azeroth. Christie Golden just really makes me want to roll an orc shaman, which I would never consider doing otherwise, or maybe a Draenei shaman. I would be happy if the Warcraft movie was based off of this book.

Before that, I read the Forgotten Realms: Avatar series (Shadowdale, Tantras, Waterdeep, Prince of Lies, Crucible: Trial of Cyric the Mad.) This is a pretty great series. Shadowdale and Tantras are a little on the boring side, but Waterdeep really picks up the pace and makes the storyline real exciting with a bunch of fun twists here and there. Prince of Lies and Crucible are great because they center on the gods and how their daily lives are. Since movie makers really don't know what to make now, I, without a second thought, direct them to this series. 10/10.

Just recently finished reading:
Terror in the Mind of God: The Global Rise of Religious Violence - Mark Jurgensmeyer

It was for my comparative politics class, and highly recommended for anyone who has some interest in the topic. It's a comparative analysis about the relationship between religion and violence and includes several examples of extremist violence in several religions as well as several "solutions" to the problem.

Oh, yeah, other than that, anxiously waiting for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows. :D

Yeah, some of the continuity between the writers isn't so great.

Hmm been reading Wuthering Heights today - Got another exam tomorrow. :P

Too hot, too greedy.
How could you leave me,
When I needed to possess you?
I hated you. I loved you, too."

Kate Bush for the win. :D

Cool i have been considering getting that book, its written by the guy that wrote the KotOR script i believe?

Uhm at the moment i'm reading a book called The Traveller by John Twelve-Hawks (yes that is his name, i can't make this stuff up). Its quite good so far, all about surveilance techniques and secret cults etc.

Oh and i'm revising a lot for my exams this week too :P

Not a bad idea for a thread Qin, what do you think of Bloodlines so far? I thought it was alright.

Aye - its not bad, im not sure i like how it changes chaarcters so much, gets a little confusing, once you get used to it - its awsome though :)

A Darkness at Sethanon by Raymond E. Feist.
Miracles by C.S. Lewis
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

Yes. I'm reading three books at a time.

Which is funny, because I use to think to myself, "How can someone do that?" But they apparently do it by having books to read when in different moods. Miracles is serious non-fiction: So far a really nice apologetical work similar to The Problem of Pain but rather than talking about excusing evil its talking about miracles.

A Darkness at Sethanon is book 4 of the Riftwar Saga by Feist. It's amazingly good, or so I think. For some reason I haven't met a girl that likes it, but every guy I've met that's read it has enjoyed it. It's not chauvinistic or anything like that-I think the writing styles is just better liked by guys. It's set in a very Tolkein fantasy universe. It's called "The Riftwar Saga" because much of the plot centers around a magical rift connecting two worlds, Midkemia and Kelewan.

And then there is Hitchhiker's which needs no introduction. And in case it does; it's Sci-fi comedy.
