New TV series must include Kyle Katarn

I've been reading this wiki, and it seems to me that there is a chance to see Kyle Katarn, most esteemed Jedi Knight, Trainer, Praxeum Battlemaster and NJO Council member, in his earlier mercenary past.

The new Star Wars TV seires, to debut in 2008, is being planned to last three "seasons", with 100 hours of episodic "television", shot in High Definition digital, like Episodes II and III, with cameo appearances by prequel cast members. The series, however, will be told from the P.O.V. of lesser characters from the movies, and possibly from some characters from the Expanded Universe. It is to chronicle the time period when the Empire consolidates its power and the building up of the Rebel Alliance ending with their first victory in battle against the Empire right before events portrayed in "Episode IV: A new Hope".
As it was Kyle who steals the plans for the Death Star to be delivered to Leia, he must be included in the final season of the series. Pehaps the chances of this happening may improve if Kyle Katarn fans start pressuring Lucasfilm to do so. He's an interesting character, with a profound transformation from a patriotic Imperial cadet to one of the most tenacious and toughest Alliance operatives. And since he'll become the first of the new Jedi Knights, not including Luke; his character can provide grist for future TV shows set in the post-Episode VI time-span.

Pre-production is to begin in January 2007. Let the skein continue... :empire: vs :alliance:

Buzz and Drunken are correct Quin, Dark Forces opens with Katarn stealing the death star plans. However while this is 'Canon' there are several other things that cover the stealing of the plans, and as such the whole thing has become confusing, noone quite knows who stole the actual plans, or whether the plans were in seperate pieces etc etc. This tv series could be a good way of them to settle the score on it.

Personally of the different stories i have heard about the stealing of the plans, i'd imagine Katarn's is one of the more feasible, this is partly because some of the others would have to cameo or even star someone major like Han Solo, to make any sense, i am refering to the Han Solo trilogy there by the way, which would be cool to see referenced in the tv series as the trilogy is some of the only EU material set between Ep. III & IV.

Ok well other things i'd like to see in this series would be a young Lando, Boba Fett (almost certain), Kyle (i mean its not as if he is already portrayed by another actor really), Ackbar, Tarkin (This could be hard, but i'd personally be fine with someone who looks a bit like Cushing), Vader Cameos (All you need is someone in the suit and some sessions with James Earl Jones...) ok ok ill stop :P

It is based between ep 3 - 4, so no kyle katarn, i read that ages ago, i cant wait to see people like quinlan vos, - who is probably going to appear.

Go play dark forces. No clue if they consider Katarn's stealing of the plans to even be canonical in the EU storylines. I would possibly expect to see Akbar though. He was a slave to Tarkin before joining the Rebellion.
