We have a small group of students selected to put together a new skinpack for the JA. These guys will be working through the next couple of weeks to make a smaller yet better skinpack. Suggestions are welcome

Here our your objectives, you must be done by March 12th:
1. Trim down the skinpack to a size no greater than 40mb
2. Remove worthless/unsuable/not used pk3s
3. Replace pk3s that have better/newer versions
4. Add whatever is good as long as you meet the size limit.

Phase 1: Cuts
Deadline: March 5th @ 2400 UTC

Each member of the cleanup crew will vote on every pk3 in the current skinpack list. You will vote to either keep that pk3 or remove it. On the 5th @ 2400 UTC (GMT), voting will cease and all votes will be tallied. Skins will be removed if they recieve more than 50% of cutting vote. You will post your voting results here in this thread.

Phase 2: Updates
Deadline: March 9th @ 2400 UTC

For the skins that are staying, we will look for newer/better versions of them. Post which pk3s you'd like to provide updates for in this thread (please include links to a page with screenshots/pk3 to the newer one). All update submissions will be in by March 9th @ 2400 UTC. The cleanup crew will then have 1 day to vote yay/nay on each proposed update. Votes will no longer be taken by March 10th @ 2400 UTC. The passing updates will be added to the skinpack.

Phase 3: Additions
Deadline: March 11th @ 2400 UTC

With what space is left after cuts and updates, the crew can propose new additions to the skinpack. Additions can no longer be proposed after March 9th @ 2400 UTC. Then each member will vote on each proposition. On March 11th @ 2400 UTC, votes will be tallied and additions made based on which ones have the most votes (until we reach the size limit).

Phase 4: Assembly
Deadline: March 12th @ 2400 UTC

The new skinpack will be put together. It will be uploaded to all JA servers replacing the old skinpack and the Servers page will be updated. A newspost will be made announcing the update.

The models in the skinpack already put together have lots of bugs. Also, since the group was only about 3 people in the voting stages, the skinpack came out kinda sucky, to be honest.

There's a better one already in the works.

release 'it'? what exactly are you referring to? there is currently a skinpack in BETA, it is not 62mb. it is also still under construction. many old skins which are bugged are being replaced and many new ones added.

We can always add skins to the server later. I always understood JJ's pack to be like the core skins, and then more could be added on like Syntax Error and Oran. I mean yeah we want to get all the ones we want in now, but theres no reason we should be waiting for more, its not the end of the world if we have to add a skin to the server by itself.

point taken, but we either have to say. 'no more additions, posting here is pointless' or 'ok, lets see some more models'

lets say that models CAN be posted here in the format that i described below. however, there are no guarantees that they will be included, or even looked at. further requests will only be considered if the skinpack is deemed not to hjave enough variety.

in the meantime, a big thank you to the testesrs who HAVE taken the time to test models and submit feedback, this is much appreciated.

the next step is to take the beta skinpack and REMOVE all the models found to be buggy.

the beta will be repacked and the size examined. we will proceed from there.
